Frequently asked questions

How do I set an image as my wallpaper?

iOS does not let apps change the wallpaper directly. In Wallpapers, open a photo and tap the Save button to save it to your photo library. Then open the Photos app, open the image, tap Share → Use as Wallpaper, adjust and tap Add.

Why does the app ask for photo library access?

Only when you save an image. The app requests add-only access so it can write wallpapers to your library. It never reads or uploads your existing photos.

Why does the app ask for permission to track?

Wallpapers is free and funded by ads. The tracking prompt (App Tracking Transparency) lets you allow personalized ads via Google AdMob. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Details: Privacy Policy.

Search shows no results / loads slowly

Results come live from several image providers over the network. Check your connection, try a simpler keyword (e.g. nature, ocean), and pull to retry. If one provider is down, results from the others still appear.

Where are Discover, Categories, and Favorites?

My favorites disappeared

Favorites are stored only on your device (no account, no cloud sync). Deleting the app or clearing its data removes them permanently — they cannot be restored.

How do I free up storage / clear the cache?

Open the Me tab and use the cache display / clear-cache option. Downloaded full-size images you saved to Photos are managed in the Photos app.

How do I report an inappropriate image?

Images come from third-party providers (Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, Flickr, Openverse, Wikimedia Commons, Bing). Please open an issue with the search keyword or category where you saw it plus a description, and we will review the source query.

Which devices are supported?

iPhone running iOS 15.0 or later, portrait orientation. There is no Android version.
